Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
Richmond Landcare is committed to building respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and stakeholders. We are proud to have our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) endorsed, which outlines our commitment to increasing cultural awareness and knowledge, promoting engagement strategies and building collaborative partnerships.
We recognize the importance of including First Nations knowledge in our projects and activities, such as cultural site awareness, First Nations plant names and use, cultural burning practices, and storylines. By incorporating this knowledge, we aim to improve the outcomes and resilience of our projects. We will consult with the appropriate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders to ensure that we engage in correct cultural protocols and practices. We also aim to increase the promotion and participation of Landcare programs by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
