Volunteer as a Group

Landcare Groups are a community-driven movement that actively support sustainable natural resource management. By engaging in a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, community engagement and education, volunteers make a significant impact on the environment. They devote their time and energy to work on numerous projects, including weed control, replanting, and site maintenance.

If you observe an area that needs rehabilitation, you and your neighbours may wish to consider establishing a new Landcare group. Landholders can initiate Landcare projects on their own properties.

Each group operates independently, maintains its own identity, and manages its own work sites. Richmond Landcare Inc. (RLI) acts as the umbrella organization, providing support to more than 100 groups in the Lismore and Ballina Shires. RLI offers access to insurance, information, funding, and equipment to support the success of Landcare groups in their mission.
