Landslip Recovery in the Northern Rivers
Works on remediating landslides in the Northern Rivers moves into phase 3.
Bush regeneration on the landslide
The focus of this phase will be working with bush regenerators to establish cover on the landslide to stabilize the slopes with local plant species and undertake weed control.
Selection of trees
A range of fast growing native species that are native to the sites will be selected for the project to enhance the biodiversity of the areas while also remediating the landslide.
By planting species with a range of root
structures and improving how the water flows across the landslip sites we are
attempting to reduce the risk of more soil lost in future heavy rain events,
and to reinstate the native vegetation.
