Habitat recovery for hollow dependent fauna

Nest Boxes for Bushfire Recovery

The Nest Boxes for Bushfire Recovery project aimed to support the post-bushfire recovery of north coast wildlife habitats by providing shelter and nesting opportunities for a range of hollow-dependent fauna. To achieve this goal, up to 40 nest boxes were installed in bushfire-impacted areas, with a particular focus on installing them before the post-fire spring breeding season.

The project has been made possible through funding from Landcare NSW and WWF Australia, and is being delivered by North Coast Regional Landcare Network in three target areas. In the Mt Nardi Fire impact area within the Lismore Local Government Area, Richmond Landcare Inc. has taken up the responsibility of delivering the project.
